Boss & Co. Sidelock Ejector, 12 bore, 2 3/4" chambers, Nitro proofed at 3 tons, ejectors, 27" fluid steel barrels choked .015 Skt2 and .030 IM, 5 lbs. 14 oz., 14 5/8" LOP to leather pad, 1 5/8" DAC, 2 1/4" DAH, 3/8" cast off for right hand, double triggers, straight grip, splinter fore end, highly figured wood, cocking indicators, vacant gold oval in stock, originally no. 1 of a pair, full coverage rose and scroll engraving with name in banner and "Boss's Patent Ejector" in engraving. A serial number in the 4300 range and the barrel address puts this at about an 1896 mfg. which makes this one of the very early fluid steel nitro hammerless guns made. Also ordered as a very light game gun at just under 6 lbs and is likely made on a 16 bore frame. Comes with a later leather trunk case with a Cork St. Boss label. Boss moved to Cork St. in 1960 and we suspect the case was added in the 1960s and the gun was likely opened to 2 3/4" by Boss and reproved as well as the case colors redone at the same time. A nice light carry gun.
