Halstead Salmon (restored), 10 ft., 3/2, 8/9 wt, a very scarce Halstead salmon rod with extension butt, aluminum sliding band stamped" G.H. Halstead Rods" over wood spacer, this rod was expertly stored by Alan Kube, the rod was stripped and rewrapped with the silk being matched exactly to the original underside color of the original wraps being an olive/brown tipped in wine color, a very few snakes had to be replaced as well as the agate stripper due to the original agate having a crack. The rod was then beautifully revarnished. Cane, handle, reel seat, ferrules, winding check, hook keeper, extension butt, and most guides are original. One tip is 1/2" short. Halstead worked for Leonard early in his career and later with Jim Payne where he designed new ferrules and the Payne locking reelseat before setting out on his own. He made rods in Danbury, CT just 20 minutes away from his great fried Pinky Gillum. Halstead rods are among the most scarce rods. Comes in original canvas wrap bag (never had a tube).
