Carmichael, Hoagy 212 (as new), 8.5 ft., 2/2, 5/6 wt, the elusive, almost impossible to obtain rod by rodmaker, author, and Garrison historian, Hoagy Carmichael. Hoagy of course was the cowriter along with Garrison for the book "Masters Guide to Building Bamboo Rods" in the 1970s. He also is the keeper of Garrison's records since his death. Hoagy has only made approximately 150 rods since the 70s and you can't just order one of these. This rod was made after a Garrison 212 with bright nickel silver sliding band over wood spacer, bright nickel silver Super Z ferrules, blued tip tops, Garrison style grip, blued agate guide, wrapped in olive green silks, tipped in red, ferrules are wrapped in dark green, olive, and red, signed "Carmichael 212" and "N-86-1", that should make this the first rod made in 1986 I would think, bamboo ferrule plug, with original bag and aluminum/brass tube. As new, unfished, likely has never been cast.
