Daryll Whitehead Presentation Six Rod Set (New), a couple of us here think we are fairly knowledgeable historians of rod building and we think this is very likely the finest bamboo rod set ever made and certainly is a set that belongs in the American Museum of Fly Fishing some day, it includes the only Spey rod ever built by Daryll and all rods hollow-built, the consecutive serial number matching set includes a 6'3" Midge 2/2, 7' Light Trout 3/2, 7'6" Trout 3/2, 8' Heavy Trout 3/2, 8'6" Steelhead 3/2, and a 12' Spey 3/2, includes 4 different scaled size custom reels with all being fully engraved by Paolo Barbetti uplocking over cape buffalo horn spacers, the steelhead and spey also having the round knobs of buffalo horn and the steelhead having the Gillum style fully engraved fighting butt extension, horn winding checks, silk wraps in black and tipped in red, red intermediate wraps, fully engraved nickle silver ferrules, ferrule plugs of buffalo horn and ivory, black, red agate stripper and spey tip tops. All with custom Arne Mason black leather cases with handles and shoulder straps along with the maker's name and rod serial number. If you can think of a finer rod set made, we'd like to hear about it. (please excuse the image curving at the top and bottom from the camera lens)
