Jim Payne Model 208H or 209L, 9 ft., 3/2, 5 3/4 oz., 7/8 wt, aluminum uplocking seat over cedar spacer, brown wraps tipped in red. A great heavy trout, streamer, or light salmon rod model made in the later years for the Chicago cataloguer V.L.&A and so stampd on the reel seat. Wonderful condition rod that has been well cared for. All original wraps, varnish, tube, and bag (hand tag is missing however). Excellent condition with straight and full length sections, perfect ferrule fit, and excellent varnish and blueing. The weight of the rod puts it as the lowest weight for a 209 but the ferrule size suggests a heavy 208.
