Jim Payne Model 101H, 7 ft. 6 in., 2/2, 6 wt, uplocking screwlock aluminum reel seat over cedar spacer, brown wraps tipped in gold, blued ferrules, a heavier weight than the catalogued 101 and throws one line weight heavier than a typical 101, circle hook keeper, standard Payne trademark stamped into reel seat , this rod is believed to be a very late Payne possibly built by Walt Carpenter after Jim's death, the ferrule fit on one tip was loose and was refit by electroplating more nickel silver by Alan Kube, that tip also has what we will call a clear protective wrap between the tip top and first snake. We can't see the wraps but there is a distinct bump up at both ends and there is extra varnish there. Otherwise it's in excellent condition, comes with original tube and labeled bag.
