Gillum, H.S., Trout 7'6", #5, 3 3/4 oz., serial number 539, made in 1947 as stated on the butt section, aluminum downlocking reel seat over cedar with maker's stamp, bronzed snakes, wraped in copper brown silks without tipping, tipping of black/white/black at the male ferrules and hook keeper, blued ferrules, bright tip tops, this is a late 2nd period Gillum still having been hand flamed along with still having Halstead's pinned ferrules, this is also just prior to his switching to synthetic glue so there are no glue lines, this rod has been with a collector for some years and he never put a line on it, it has been fished but remains in wonderful condition, this rod likely has had some refinish work done in the past and and indications point to the work being done by Bradford. Everthing is tight, the correct length, and straight, it's a wonderful action with plenty of power but light tips that should make it a pleasure at a full range of casting distances. It comes with the original bag and tube. Unfortunately sometime ago, someone put maskin tape over Pinky's tube label and some of it remains. The tube label has only about 70% remaining.
