If you aren't familiar with Kerry Burkheimer, he has been making rods more than 25 years under his own name in Washington state. He does his own R&D, makes his own blanks, and actually makes all his own components except his reel seat which Struble makes to his design. Prior to making rods under his own name, Kerry learned the rodmaking art while working for the late Russ Peak. After Russ passed away, his family sold Kerry the business but out of respect for Russ, Kerry did not use the Russ Peak name. If you aren't familiar with Russ Peak, he is arguably the most prominant glass and graphite rod maker ever.
