Hardy Perfect Taupo, Originally introduced in 1958 to fill the need for a large capacity trout reel to handle the large browns and rainbows in New Zealand. Hardy just recently reintroduced this reel and like the other new perfects with a couple of improvements. It's now machined from solid high grade aluminum and hard anodized for durability. The check mechanism has also been changed to the modern lightweight style enabling easy change from left to right hand retrieve. 3 7/8", 7.5 oz., spool depth 1 1/2", spool width 1", overall width 1 1/2", rim knob drag adjustment, also can be used in spey applications where the spring and pawl drag system is preferable.
